This is St.John Wall at the start of the day for the BBC school report. Some of the members of the group came early to do a radio interview for BBC WM with Cayte Walker. They were expressing our feelings about how they feel the day will go. The rest of the group arrived and were told to come and stand by the BBC set for a group photo. Then we were taken to the stiudio for a production meeting to discuss the story order.

The big day has finally arrived!!!!
Our first order of the day was to take a group photo and then we were taken to the studio for a production meeting.

Tension is building up as everyone is getting ready to go live on air at 2pm. Everyone is running around trying to get their stories done in time. Jordaine, our editor is putting the finishing touches of the headline story about the community.

Luke and Shantelle, our main presenters are learning their lines and are rehearsing for when they go live on air. Assa and Rajan are doing the sound engineering for when we go live. Shanice and Raveena are the weather women and Momina is finding the top 5 stories of the day. Ricardo is doing the sports news for our school.

News 24 and BBC Midlands Today are here filming us preparing for when we go live.

They are also interviewing us, asking us how we feel and what we are doing and stuff.

We interviewed some of the crew members from BBC Midlands Today and News 24.

Laura McMullin said: “ I am a video journalist doing a report for BBC Midlands Today to find out what the pupils are doing.”

Matthew Sydney said: “ I am a producer and we are going live at for news 24 headlines at 11.00am so we are rehearsing our lines and camera angles.”
We have also talked to one of the main presenters for the BBC news 24:
Jane Hill said: “I work for the BBC news 24 as a presenter I think the footage of the community looks very professional. I think people have enjoyed it I’m not really sure some are nervous and find out at the end.

At the moment everyone is working very hard to meet the deadline for 2pm. They are working on their scripts trying  to get their words right. Also the pressure is on the camera people to make sure they get the right shots and the presenters have to look in to the right cameras. Rehearsals  are going on now and there is a lot of tension as these are
the last rehearsals till we go live on air. Luke and Shantelle are finding it hard to remember their words also knowing  which camera they have to look in at certain times.

Nerves are kicking in as there is now only 15 minutes left until we go live on air. Our presenters, Luke and Shantelle are still rehearsing. They are really nervous as they have to get everything right.

We have just had a surprise visitor, it was our headteacher…MR HUSSEY!!!
He has come here to watch us perform our BBC school report. He’s really interested in this project as he is asking questions and is very proud of St John Wall.

The time has come we are going live Luke and Shantelle are very nervous.
They are both doing very well and they have not messed up yet. The stories that were broadcasted are humanities college and community status.

They have finished the live on air and they have all done really well. Everyone is really proud of them and we can’t wait to see the full thing!!!
After that we all took a group photograph.

This experience has been really fun and I hope to do it again sometime in the near future.

Happy faces in this photo as we have finished the BBC School Report everyone is relieved that it has all come out well.
